A 13-month-old Niagara region child died after the children's aid society placed the child into the care of an abusive grandparent.
According to court documentation, in spite of warnings to the children's aid society that the child would be abused and in spite of a past history of abuse by the grandparent, the children's aid society went ahead and placed the child with the abusive grandparent where the child ended up dead
