JUSTICE MARY JANE HATTON (OSHAWA FAMILY COURT Branch)
Justice Mary Jane Hatton was "called to the bar" in 1976 and appointed a judge of the Ontario court of Justice (provincial) in 1990 presiding at 311 Jarvis Street since 1991.
She was made the Senior Judge for Family Law in 2008. While she was very popular and well liked by most family lawyers during the years she sat in Oshawa.
Justice Mary Jane Hatton is challenged when it comes to being put under stress.
The Family Law Rules are currently under "review" and word is that Justice Mary Jane Hatton will be the wolf in charge of the chicken coup.

Justice Mary Hatton has left a trail of destroyed fathers and children alienated from their fathers.
Oshawa Unified Family Court, like many others including Ottawa , Kingston and Belleville, have reputations of being amongst the worst courts in Ontario. Mothers typically move to these areas simply to gain a tactical advantage so it offers mothers a real good reason to cause a change in venue especially if a judge has made an unfavourable order in a court in another more neutral court.
If you are a father in Oshawa Family Court make sure you are represented by lawyer who is prepared to make all the necessary politically incorrect but legally necessary arguments and of course competent and agreeable to represent you if an appeal is necessary.

The Honourable Madam Justice Mary Jane Hatton, a Judge of the Family Court Branch of the Superior Court of Justice in Oshawa, is appointed Senior Judge of the Family Court Branch of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario. She replaces Mr. Justice David R. Aston (Toronto) who was appointed a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario.
Madam Justice Hatton received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario and she was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1976. Prior to 1999, Madam Justice Hatton was the Chair of the Case Management Operations Committee for the case management pilot project in the Toronto Family Court and was actively involved in the design, implementation and promotion. She was also counsel at the Children’s Aid Society of Metropolitan Toronto for five years and was in private practice for 9 years specializing in family law. She was appointed to the Family Court Branch of the Superior Court of Justice in 1999.
